After the Bell Rings: Innovative strategies for including all children in out-of-school time programs

National Outreach Award

KIT announces the nominating period of our awards program that will recognize outstanding organizations for efforts in inclusion. This award can be given to organizations that have made a commitment to the inclusion of children with disabilities or to collaborative community initiatives that work to include children with disabilities. This award is not for an individual, but for an organization or collaborative effort of several organizations.

Awards will be presented at the Journey to Inclusion awards luncheon on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Bahia Resort Hotel. In order to nominate your organization, please send a narrative nomination (maximum 2 pages) with the following information:

1. Name of organization
2. Contact person, title, phone, email, street address, fax number
3. Mission statement and a brief overview of services provided by your organization
4. Detailed description of inclusion efforts in your organization (may include planning for inclusion, outreach efforts to families, collaborations with community organizations, program accommodations made or training provided to staff) and their outcomes.
5. Share any success stories related to your inclusion efforts.
6. Photos may be attached. Please obtain permission from participant’s families prior to submitting to KIT
