After the Bell Rings: Innovative strategies for including all children in out-of-school time programs

Call for Presenters

The purpose of KIT's National Conference on Inclusion is to

  1. Increase awareness and understanding of inclusion
  2. Feature individuals with disabilities as speakers and presenters
  3. Provide out-of-school time providers with practical, evidence-based tools and resources for inclusion
  4. Provide networking opportunities for professionals practicing inclusion in out-of-school time programs

Suggested topics for break-out sessions

  • Adaptations and accommodations
  • Assistive technology
  • Behavior support
  • Disability awareness
  • Early childhood inclusion
  • Hands-on inclusive activities (i.e. sports, yoga, art)
  • Including teens with disabilities
  • Inclusion in school-age care
  • Organizational development/strategic planning for inclusion
  • Sessions presented by self-advocates
  • Universal design

Registration

All presenters must register to attend the conference. Lead presenters will receive a 50% discount on their registration fee. Co-presenters will receive a 25% discount. Upon selection, presenters will receive a promotional code to enter when registering online.

Audio/Visual Equipment

KIT will provide a flip chart and markers, LCD projector, screen and extension cord for each break-out session. Presenters are responsible for laptops and all other equipment.

Acceptance of Presentations

The Program Committee will review completed proposals and presenters will be notified of their status via email by March 31, 2010.

Submission Deadline

Submission deadline is March 12, 2010.
